About Us

Our Sanctuary

More than just a wildlife park, Potoroo Palace is a forever home for Australia's native animals

An Extraordinary Vision

In 2006, Alexandra Seddon made a remarkable decision to purchase Yellow Pinch Wildlife Park, giving the animals a lifeline when they faced an uncertain future.

Rather than allowing the park to disappear, she chose to protect it for future generations.

She transformed it into what is now - Potoroo Palace Native Animal Education Sanctuary - and donated it to the community, ensuring it would always exist to protect Australia’s native wildlife.

Alexandra’s vision has shaped Potoroo Palace from the very beginning. She not only created a sanctuary where rescued animals could live in safety, but a place where conservation, education and compassion could inspire people to become active stewards of the natural world.

Today, that vision lives on through every rescued animal, every visitor and every supporter who believes Australia's wildlife deserves a future.

Our Mission

To protect Australia's native wildlife through conservation, education, community and compassionate animal care.

Our Vision

A future where Australia's native wildlife continues to thrive, and every generation is inspired to protect it.

A Sanctuary Unlike Any Other

Located on the beautiful Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, Potoroo Palace is a not‑for‑profit native animal education sanctuary that brings together animal welfare, conservation and education in one unique place.

The sanctuary provides a safe, permanent home for native animals that cannot return to the wild due to injury, habitat loss or other human impacts. Here, they live in a peaceful, natural environment where their wellbeing is nurtured and they are protected for the rest of their lives.

Our mission extends beyond animal care. Through education, meaningful encounters and opportunities to connect with wildlife, we inspire visitors to appreciate Australia’s remarkable biodiversity and understand why protecting it matters. Every visit supports lifelong care for our resident animals and helps protect Australia's wildlife for future generations.

Nurtured By Our Community

Over the past two decades, Potoroo Palace has grown through the extraordinary generosity of its community.

Since 2006, our community has helped us improve animal welfare, restore habitats, develop visitor facilities and strengthen conservation programs.

Every enclosure that has been built, every animal that has been rescued and every educational experience delivered has been made possible because people chose to invest in wildlife.

We are incredibly grateful to our community which helps us grow and gives native wildlife hope for the future.

Inspiring Future Generations

Every day, children, families, schools and visitors discover Australia's native wildlife at our sanctuary through hands-on experiences that cannot be replicated in a classroom.

Meeting a rescued wombat, watching a koala up close or feeding an emu by hand creates an emotional connection that lasts a lifetime.

These experiences aim to inspire people not only to appreciate wildlife but

to actively protect it.

We want every visitor to leave Potoroo Palace with a greater understanding of

Australia's biodiversity and the role each of us can play in conserving it.

Why we do it ?

Australia is home to some of the most extraordinary wildlife on Earth. At the same time, it is experiencing one of the world's highest rates of mammal extinctions. Native animals face increasing threats from habitat loss, climate change, bushfires and invasive species.

When wildlife loses its habitat, its safety and its chance to survive, sanctuaries become lifelines. We provide permanent refuge for animals who have nowhere else to go—and a place where people can learn why their protection matters.

Our sanctuary gives Australia's unique wildlife the chance of a future.
